Admission Requirements

The master program addresses candidates holding at least Bachelor's Degree (first cycle, 6th EQF level, minimum 180 ECTS credits or equivalent) in civil engineering and related fields (e.g., agricultural or environmental engineering, geology, geography, etc.).

The prospective students should have sufficient knowledge of English (knowledge level B1 of the Common European Framework CEF).

Admission is subject to an assessment of candidates’ achievements and educational background.


Application Procedure

Apply for Master Programme in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering by filling out and submitting the online application form. Before you apply online, make sure that the documents described on this page are ready for uploading.

Required documents (1):

  • Scans of academic diploma(s)(2) (translated in English)
  • Diploma supplement(s) or transcript(s) of records  (translated in English)
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Motivation Letter
  • Results of an English knowledge test (if applicable)

(1) Only PDF, Word/Doc and JPEG files will be accepted.

(2) In case you have not yet obtained your BSc degree and you are in the last year of your study, please attach a statement of your university confirming that you are in the last year of your studies and stating that you are expected to graduate before October 2018.

For applicants having foreign higher education qualifications a procedure of academic recognition is mandatory. The procedure is a part of the admission and applicants are advised to apply at the University level. The final decision will be made timely and approved by Faculty Council, and will not affect the admission procedure.

The applicant cannot appeal to the decision at the University level, but can initiate an administrative dispute at the relevant court, within 30 days after an initial decision has been made. Applicants are advised to contact general Faculty's secretary Saša Delić, (e-mail: sasa.delic@gradst.hr) for guidance and further details about the appealing procedure.

Application deadlines

·       Deadlines for application depend on whether you are EU or Non EU student.

  • Non EU students may apply until 1st of July.
  • EU students may apply until 1st of October.

Selection Procedure

If the number of applicants exceeds the Faculty’s capacity a classification procedure is performed and applicants are selected according to the results achieved during bachelor degree or from admission tests. 

The applicants may appeal to the selection procedure to the Study Committee within 48 hours after the initial information. The Committee reviews the appeals and submits the draft decision to the Dean. The Dean makes the decision within 24 hours after receiving the draft decision from the Committee. The applicants may have insight into documents from the selection procedure and get an explanation on decisions. As a result of the appeals, the admission decision may be changed.

The applicants may also appeal to the final decision on enrolment within 15 days from receiving the formal decision. The final decision is made by the Faculty Council. The applicants may also initiate an administrative dispute at the relevant court, within 30 days after the decision has been made by the Faculty Council. Tuition Fees

  • For EU/EEA students regular fees are equal to about 3,000 euro per year.
  • For Non-EU students regular fees are equal to about 4,500 euro per year.


Grant

European and Non-European students are welcome to apply for University of Split scholarship available to them to cover tuition fees.

Tne scholarship for a top applicant is available on a competitive basis.

The Selection Board of the WREE Programme will be responsible for selection of a scholarship holder.

The Selection Board evaluates the application material and ranks the applicants according to their score of qualification score.
