INVITATION TO ADMISSION
for the admission of students to the Postgraduate University (Doctoral) Study in Civil Engineering.
Admission requirements
The following candidates are entitled to apply:
- Candidates who attained university qualification at 7th level (university graduate study) with at least 300 ECTS credits and previous qualification at 6th level, with minimum average grade of “very good” (over 3.50), i.e. equivalent grade from other systems of evaluation or candidates who are among 20% of the best-achieving students in their generation.
- Candidates who completed the adequate university graduate study* (7th level) with minimum average grade of “very good” (over 3.50), i.e. equivalent grade from other systems of evaluation or candidates who are among 20% of the best-achieving students in their generation.
- Candidates who attained qualifications at level 8.1.
Admission quota for this Invitation is 30 students.
The applicant shall state his/her interest in a specific field of research in the letter of intent. If the expressed interest in a certain field of research exceeds the capacity of available supervisors or more candidates apply with respect to the admission quota, the selection of candidates shall be made based on the success achieved at previous studies or through an entrance exam.
Exceptionally, for the candidates with qualifications at 7th level with a general point average below 3.50, the Committee for Postgraduate Study may grant enrolment if they provide letters of recommendation from two full professors.
For applicants under items 1 and 2 who acquired knowledge from other technical, natural or other fields of science, but do not have adequate level of knowledge, skills and competences to continue their studies at the Postgraduate University Study in Civil Engineering, the Faculty shall determine the degree, number of ECTS credits and level of knowledge, skills and competences he/she is obligated to acquire. In that event, the Committee for Postgraduate Studies shall determine the differences of required learning outcomes at 7th level which should be formally acquired.
Applicants under item 3 who have attained qualifications at level 8.1 are entitled to enrol without the entrance exam and outside of the admission quota, pursuant to Article 9 of the Ordinance on the Postgraduate University Doctoral Study. A recognition procedure shall be conducted for them for the purpose of determining the degree, number of ECTS credits and level of acquired knowledge, skills and competences.
Duration of the study programme
Full-time study generally lasts three years, however it can be extended up to six years for justifiable reasons and with valid explanation upon which the Committee for Postgraduate Study shall decide. Part-time study lasts for six years and it can be extended up to eight years for justifiable reasons and with valid explanation upon which the Committee for Postgraduate Study shall decide. The applicant is obligated to enclose the notification regarding the selection of the type of studying.
Upon completion of the Postgraduate University (Doctoral) Study in Civil Engineering, the student acquires at least 180 ECTS credits and is awarded the doctoral degree (Dr.Sc.) in the area of Technical Sciences: field of Civil Engineering, Fundamental Technical Sciences and in the Interdisciplinary area of science: fields which represent a combination of previously mentioned Technical science fields.
Tuition fee
The total tuition fee for full-time students is 48,000.00 HRK (Croatian kunas).
The total tuition fee for part-time students is 60,000.00 HRK (Croatian kunas).
Students with a recognised part of learning outcomes, i.e. study obligations, pay the tuition fee determined in proportion to the remaining obligations.

The Invitation is open until the admission quota is reached.
