RESCOP - Monitoring morskih ekosustava korištenjem daljinske detekcije – studijski posjet Bergenu

Between February 5th and 23rd, 2024, representatives from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Geodesy at the University of Split, Morena Galešić Divić and Marija Kvesić Ivanković, engaged in educational and knowledge-sharing activities with numerous researchers at the international institute in Bergen - the Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center (NERSC).
During their three-week visit, the researchers had the opportunity to delve into the fundamentals of data collection and metadata retrieval from various satellites and sensors relevant to their study area. Leveraging tools developed by the OSIRS (Ocean and Sea Ice Remote Sensing) - GeoSPaaS research group, they analyzed data for their area of interest, with one test site designated in the North Sea and another in the Adriatic Sea. Subsequently, they visualized the data using the SEAScope software.
Through a series of collaborative discussions and collaboration with members of the OSIRS research group, they explored additional avenues for utilizing data from existing satellite missions, as well as for linking and/or comparing it with data collected and processed by the Croatian research group through unmanned aerial vehicles and in-situ point measurements. Plans for further collaboration are slated for the concluding workshop of the project on March 18th and 19th in Split.
